Greenville, S.C -- Miami's women's cross country team faces stout competition for the second straight week Saturday, Oct. 13, when it competes at the Pre-NCAA Invitational in Greenville, S.C.

Last weekend, the team ran at the Roy Griak Invitational, which featured 12 of the top 25 teams in the country. This weekend's meet includes 21 of the top 25 as well as six teams that received votes in the Oct. 8 poll.

The 75-team meet, hosted by Furman, is divided into two 6,000-meter races, Purple and Silver, and is run on the Furman Golf Course. Miami is competing in the Silver Division, which is composed of 38 teams, 11 of which are nationally ranked and four who received votes.

The Silver race begins at 11:20 a.m. and includes such powerhouses as No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 North Carolina State and No. 4 Brigham Young.
