GREAT RANK IN THE GREAT LAKES: The RedHawk Women's Cross Country team was rated in the Great Lakes Region for the second consecutive time according to the NCAA women's cross country ranking. Miami is rated eighth, one place down from last weeks ranking. The Red and White attempt to stay rated for three consecutive weeks after the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday. All college athletes in the state of Ohio are invited to the race hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.

CHECKING OUT THE COMPETITION: The last time the RedHawks competed in the all-Ohio Championships was 1999 when they placed seventh out of 40 teams. This years field consists of 41 teams: Akron, Ashland, Baldwin-Wallace, Bowling Green, Bluffton, Capital, Case Western, Cleveland State, Cuyahoga Community College, Cedarville, Cincinnati, Dayton, Defiance, Denison, Findlay, Heidelberg, Hiram, John Carroll, Kenyon, Kent State, Malone, Mt. Union, Mt. Saint Joseph, Muskingum, Ohio State, Ohio University, Ohio Wesleyan, Ohio Nothern, Oberlin, Otterbein, Rio Grande, Tiffin, Toledo, Wright State, Walsh, Wooster, Wilmington, Wittenberg, Xavier, and Youngstown State.

PAST RESULTS: On Sept. 7th, Kremer won her second consecutive Miami Invitational by almost 30 seconds with junior Kristen Fryburg and freshman Katy Pryor rounding out the top three spots of the race. Junior Kylee Studer and sophomore Sarah Bertolini completed the race in the top-ten by finishing sixth and tenth, respectively The RedHawks won their ninth Miami Invitational in the 18-year history.

In their second meet, the Miami women's cross country team won its second consecutive Miami Fall Classic on Saturday at the 5,000-meter race. Kremer led the RedHawks with a second-place finish in a time of 17:28.80. Kremer was followed by Fryburg, Pryor, and Studer to give the RedHawks the second, third, fourth, and fifth place finishers.

The RedHawks finished tied for ninth at the 17th annual running of the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota on Sept. 28. Kremer moved up three spots from last year to place 11th while Fryburg was the 33rd runner to cross the finish line. The next Red and White finisher was Pryor who placed 53rd. Freshman Kelly Ardelean, Bertolini, and Studer finished within five seconds of each other to place 69th, 71st, and 73rd. The race featured 22 teams and 199 runners, including seven nationally ranked teams.
