CLEVELAND - Sophomore Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) was named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.
The RedHawks' top runner in every race dating back to the beginning of last season, Kremer won the Miami Fall Classic Saturday, Sept. 22, breaking the old course record by more than a minute in the process. Her performance helped the RedHawks take the team title at the meet for the first time in its six-year history. Kremer also captured the individual title at the Miami Invitational on Sept. 8.
"Each week I am amazed at the new things she accomplishes," says head coach Dr. Richard Ceronie. "She's a great example of what a student-athlete should aspire to."
In addition to her two victories this season, Kremer, a mathematics major with a 3.81 GPA, won last year's Fall Classic.
Kremer and her teammates will compete Saturday, Sept. 29 at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota.
