Sept. 21, 2004

OXFORD, Ohio - Freshman Jennie Stoll (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) has been honored as the Mid-American Conference's Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for Sept. 21 after her record-breaking performance in the Cedarville Invitational 5K this past weekend.

Stoll shares the award this week with Buffalo's Jenny Koeppel, who won the Central Collegiate Championship race held in Toledo, Ohio.

The Cedarville race was held at John Bryan State Park north of Xenia, Ohio, and featured 13 other schools. Stoll was recognized for finishing the race in 17:53.94, the fastest time on the course since its 2002 redesign. Miami won the race with 28 points, well ahead of runner-up Roberts Wesleyan's 73, and placed all five scorers in the top 10. Stoll is the first Miami woman to win a Runner of the Week award in 2004.

The Miami women's squad has two weekends off before the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Oct. 8.
