OXFORD, Ohio - With a fourth-place finish at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday in East Lansing, Mich., Miami University junior Laura Neufarth earned her second Mid-American Conference Runner of the Week Award of the 2008 season and the fifth of her Miami career.

The 2007 MAC individual champion paced the RedHawks with a time of 21:45 in the 8K competition at Forest Akers East Golf Course. The Centerville, Ohio native was topped only by Michigan State runners, including a 2007 All-American, who won the event.

Since arriving at Miami in the fall of 2007, Neufarth has won eight-straight Division-I races outside of NCAA Regional and National Championship competition.

The 2008 RedHawk squad is ranked sixth in Great Lakes Region according to the USTFCCCA Poll that was released on Monday, Sept. 15. Miami will next travel to the Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State University on Oct. 4 with the gun sounding at 8 a.m. CT.
