Sept. 10, 2002
After finishing first in the Miami Invitational for the second consecutive year and then being named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week, junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) capped the week off with the MAC Women's Runner of the Week honor.
Kremer is no stranger to the weekly awards. During last season, Kremer earned the MAC Women's Runner of the Week accolade three times, the MAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week once, and the MAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week award twice.
The RedHawks first-place finish in the Miami Invitational was powered by Kremer's first-place finish that beat the closest runner by nearly 30 seconds. The Red and White placed five runners in the top-ten including the top three finishers.
Kremer will attempt to win her sixth straight home race at the Miami Fall Classic on Sept. 21. Kremer has not lost a home meet in over two years.
