Sept. 10, 2002
Junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) was named Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the third time in her career after her second consecutive first-place finish in the Miami Invitational.
Kremer won the race by nearly 30 seconds and helped the RedHawks claim their ninth first-place finish in the 18-year history. Kremer paced the RedHawks to sweep the top-three spots and place five runners in the top-ten.
Kremer became the second runner in Miami cross country history to earn all-American honors courtesy of her 25th place finish in the NCAA Championships last year. In both of her first two years at Miami, Kremer has garnered all-MAC and all-region honors in cross country.
Beyond her incredible accolades, Kremer earned a 3.84 GPA while majoring in mathematics.
On Saturday, Sept. 21, Kremer will be running in the Miami Fall Classic on the Western Campus Course where she has not lost in over two years. She has won five consecutive races on the RedHawk's course including two straight Miami Fall Classics.
