CLEVELAND--Miami University women's cross country junior Laura Neufarth (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was tabbed the Mid-American Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday morning (Sept. 3).
Neufarth won her second-straight Dayton 5K Challenge on Aug. 30, crossing the finish line in 18:15, which was five seconds faster than her time a year ago. She led the RedHawks to their second-straight Dayton 5K team crown.
The league weekly award is the first of the season selected by the Mid-American Conference. With Miami's Pat Sovacool earning MAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week, Miami completed a sweep of the conference's weekly awards the first week of the season.
