The Miami women's cross country team ended their season at the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Championships at the Varsity Cross Country Course in West Lafayette, Ind. with a ninth-place finish on Saturday afternoon.
Second-team all-MAC runner, Kristen Fryburg (Dayton, OH/Kettering Alter) was the first RedHawk to cross the finish line. Fryburg placed 15th with a time of 21:48. If Toledo gets an at-large bid,Kristen Fryburg will qualify as an at-large individual.
Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, IN/Bishop Chatard), who claimed first-team all-MAC honors two weeks ago, took 26th place when she finished in 22:06.
Second-team all-MAC runners Kylee Studer (Edgerton, OH/Edgerton) and Katy Pryor (New Castle, IN/New Castle) claimed 37th and 62nd in the race.
The RedHawks lived up to their ninth-place Great Lakes Region rating. Notre Dame and Michigan earned the automatic bids.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan Wolverines claimed first and second places respectively, earning the region's two team automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.
Toledo's Briana Shook was the individual winner, running the 6,000m course in 20:47.1, beating the second place runner by 10 seconds.
