BUFFALO, N.Y. - Junior Jennie Stoll finished 11th overall on her way to second-team all-conference honors and the Miami University women's cross country team placed three runners in the top 35 as it finished eighth Saturday at the 2006 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championship.

At a rainy and muddy 5K course at Beaver Island State Park, Stoll finished in the MAC's top 12 for the second consecutive year, turning in an 11th-place time of 21:08. Battling through temperatures in the low 40's and steady winds of 20-30 mph, Stoll placed 66 seconds behind race winner Carime Reinhart of Ohio (20:02).

Junior Mia Fiegelist and sophomore Erin McGowan joined Stoll in the meet's top 35 finishers, as they placed 32nd and 34th, respectively. Fiegelist clocked in at 21:42, while McGowan was one second behind her at 21:43. For both runners, it was their career-best MAC finish.

Placing as the fourth Miamian was sophomore Rebekah Hollander, as she turned in a 42nd-place time of 21:55. Behind Hollander, freshman Kelsey McHugh rounded out Miami's scoring five with a 58th-place time of 22:16. It was Hollander's first career finish in Miami's scoring contingent and McHugh's sixth straight race in which she finished among the top five Miamians.

Ohio (37 points) took home the team title in impressive fashion as it placed four runners in the meet's top 12. Ohio finished 76 points in front of second-place Bowling Green (113), while Akron (129), Toledo (138) and Ball State (151) rounded out the top five.

Western Michigan (159) and Central Michigan (172) also finished in front of eighth-place Miami (177), with Eastern Michigan (185), Kent State (240), Buffalo (254) and Northern Illinois (277) placing ninth through 12th, respectively.

Stoll was the only Miamian to place on the all-conference squad, as she earned all-MAC second-team accolades for the second straight season. Miami has placed at least one athlete on the all-conference team in each of the past nine seasons and totaled 30 all-conference selections, including Stoll, in program history.

The RedHawks resume cross country action in two weeks when they travel to the Great Lakes Regional Nov. 11 in Bowling MAC Green, Ohio.
