St. Paul, Minn. - Miami University's women's cross country team came in 20th out of 32 teams at the prestigious 6,000-meter Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course in St. Paul, Minn. Three-hundred runners participated in the meet, which featured 12 of the top 25 teams in the country.

As has been the case in every race since the beginning of her freshman season, sophomore Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) was the top finisher for the RedHawks, as she cruised to a 14th-place finish in a time of 21:23.7, the fastest 6,000 meters she has run in her career. She posted her previous best of 21:33 at the Sept. 22 Miami Fall Classic.

Sophomore Kristen Fryburg (Dayton, Ohio/Kettering Alter) continued to impress after missing all of last season with a leg injury as she cracked the top 50, coming in 48th with a 22:01.1 clocking. Right on her heels was senior Liz Lundgren (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville), who placed 66th in 22:14.1.

Sophomore Kate Steffen (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park), freshman Meredith Magsig (Elmore, Ohio/Woodmore), sophomore Kristin Wrede (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) and freshman Sarah Bertolini (Louisville, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) rounded out Miami's top seven, crossing the finish line in 184th (23:10.1), 189th (23:15.4), 203rd (23:22.7) and 238th (23:49.9), respectively.

Finishing out of the scoring were sophomore Kylee Studer (Edgerton, Ohio/Edgerton) in 251st (23:55.9) and sophomore Jo Custer (Minster, Ohio/Minster) in 267th (24:20.3).

Arizona State, ranked No. 11, won the meet comfortably over No. 9 Providence, 109-139. Among Mid-American Conference competition, Miami narrowly lost to Toledo, who finished 19th, and edged Kent State, who came in 22nd.
