OXFORD, Ohio--After earning a first-round bye as the No. 4 seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, Miami University's volleyball team will face the winner of the No. 12 Akron at No. 5 Western Michigan matchup in the quarterfinal round at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17. The winner of Friday's match will advance to the semifinals, facing the No. 1 Ohio vs. No. 8 Eastern Michigan/No. 9 Kent State winner at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. The championship match is slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19.
With a 3-0 win at Kent State on Saturday, Nov. 11 to round out the MAC regular-season, Miami moved to 9-7 in MAC play to earn the No. 4 seed in the tournament. This marks Miami's first first-round bye since the tournament was expanded to include all league schools.
The Mid-American Conference Tournament First-Round matches take place at the campus sites of the No. 5-8 seeds with the winners of those matches meeting the top four seeds at the SeaGate Centre in Toledo, Ohio, for the quarterfinals on Friday, Nov. 17. Semifinal matches and the championship match also will be played at the SeaGate Centre on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
