Offensively, four Bobcats average over three kills per game with Ellen Herman leading the way averaging 4.13 kpg. Along with Herman, Melissa Griffin, Stephanie Blackburn and Amanda Andersen are averaging 3.91 kpg, 3.16 kpg and 3.15 kpg, respectively. Griffin leads the conference in hitting percentage in overall matches and conference matches (.368 overall/.386 MAC). Michaele Blackburn averages 4.91 dpg to spearhead the Ohio defense, while Stephanie Blackburn aids the defense with an average of 4.35 dpg. In overall matches and conference-only matches, Ohio ranks in the top two in four categories (hitting percentage (.286/.312 MAC), opponent hitting percentage (.148/.138 MAC), assists (15.73/16.15 MAC) and kills (17.15/17.67 MAC).

THE SERIES AGAINST OHIO: Miami owns a 40-16 lead in the all-time series with Ohio and is 14-7 against the Bobcats when playing in Athens. Ohio has won the last nine matches versus Miami, including a three-game victory against the RedHawks on Oct. 29 in Oxford. The Bobcats have won six straight against the RedHawks when playing in Athens. The last time Ohio and Miami met in Athens, Miami took Ohio to five games but lost the deciding fifth game, 15-13.

ABOUT KENT STATE: Miami heads to Kent State on Saturday Nov. 11 to play in its final conference tilt of the 2006 season. Kent State has dropped four matches in a row, including a four-game loss to Miami on Oct. 27. Kent State currently stands in a tie for sixth place with a 6-8 MAC record. Sarah Wilber and Ashley Feutz lead the Kent State attack, averaging 3.18 kpg and 3.11 kpg, respectively. Defensively, Laura Jensen ranks fourth in digs, averaging 5.62 dpg and an impressive 6.02 dpg in conference action.

THE SERIES AGAINST THE GOLDEN FLASHES: Miami holds a 45-11 all-time series lead over Kent State. When playing in Kent, Miami posts a 15-5 record and the RedHawks have posted victories the last two times the teams have squared-off in Kent.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks will participate in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at campus sites. Winners of the first-round matches will join the top four seeds in Toledo, Ohio, at the Sea Gate Center where the tournament will be played from Nov. 17-Nov. 19.

20/20 VISION: For the second time this season, sophomore outside hitter Emily Schroeder recorded a 20/20 double-double, amassing 22 kills and a career-high 22 digs in a five-game match with Northern Illinois on Nov. 4. It also marked the second time this season Miami had two players record 20-or-more digs in the same match with sophomore libero Melissa Zenz tallying 26 digs against the Huskies. Previously, Schroeder notched 20 kills and 20 digs in a five-game match with Tennessee State on Sept. 16, while Zenz amassed 23 digs against Tennessee State. It was Schroeder's ninth 20-kill performance of the season and Zenz's seventh 20-plus dig effort of 2006.

REIHMAN CLOSING IN ON 1,000 KILLS: Compiling 25 kills last week, junior middle hitter Carli Reihman moved within 45 kills of becoming Miami's 15th player to record 1,000 career kills. BYE, BYE BIRDIE: With just two regular-season Mid-American Conference matches remaining, Miami is working to earn a first-round bye. Four teams receive first-round byes in the MAC Tournament. Miami's journey over the final weekend will be challenging as the RedHawks face Ohio (14-0) and Kent State (6-8).

MAC-NIFICENT: Averaging 4.86 kills per game to rank third among MAC statistical leaders in conference-only matches and hitting .346 to rank seventh in the MAC, sophomore outside hitter Emily Schroeder is one of just three players to rank among the top seven in both categories. Schroeder also ranks third in points per game (5.57). Freshman setter Andrea Atteberry ranks fifth in assists (12.53), and sophomore libero Melissa Zenz ranks ninth in digs (4.73) and fifth in service aces (0.43). Along with Zenz, junior middle hitter Carli Reihman ranks ninth in service aces, averaging 0.39 per game. Schroeder anchors a Miami offensive attack that ranks fifth in the conference in kpg (15.49) and is second in the MAC in opponent digs with 16.20.
