OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University head volleyball coach and Cincinnati native Carolyn Condit's 350th Miami win could not have come at a better time as the RedHawks downed Marshall University in four games to end the regular season and earn the No. 4 seed in the Mid-American Conference Tournament. The RedHawks will host No. 5 Akron at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the quarterfinal round.
With 13 kills, 14 digs and 11 blocks, junior middle hitter Jennifer Eaton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) made Miami University volleyball history, recording the fourth triple-double of her career as the RedHawks upended Marshall 30-14, 24-30, 30-15 and 30-19. All four have come this season and all have come in four games.
Despite a tight race through the early stages, Miami notched six unanswered points to gain an 18-11 advantage, highlighted by a Jennifer Eaton (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline Academy) service ace. After taking a 21-13 edge, the RedHawks outscored the Thundering Herd nine to one down the stretch to capture the 30-14 win in the first game.
In the second game, Marshall took an 11-10 lead and never looked back as they notched a 30-24 triumph. Miami tried to rally late in the game, but to no avail. The RedHawks trailed 20-28 and posted four straight points off kills by Susan Poll (Grand Rapids, Mich./East Kentwood) and Erika Eagan (Bloomington, Ill./Tri-Valley) and a pair of Herd miscues to cut the Marshall lead to four. But two kills by Jodi Fick iced the second game for the Thundering Herd.
Bolstered by a .419 hitting percentage and five blocks, Miami rebounded to take a 30-15 win in the third game. Miami took control from the onset and never looked back. Eaton paced the RedHawks with three kills, four digs and three blocks in the third set.

Miami improves to 14-11 overall and 11-7 in the Mid-American Conference, while Marshall ends its season at 6-21 overall and 4-14 in league action.
