The Bobcats regained control of the set by scoring the next seven points to take a 22-19 lead. That advantage held up as Ohio won the first set, 25-21.

The turning point in set two came with the score tied at 10. Despite three kills from Griffin, the Bobcats went on a 10-4 run to take a 20-14 lead. From there, Hallie Hanks and Cassie Farrell each recorded kills, but Ohio was able to take a 25-16 victory.

The Bobcats established a 15-7 advantage to take control in set three. A 5-2 run keyed by a Jenn Caylor kill and a block from Leahy and Griffin pulled the RedHawks to within five at 12-17, but that was a close as they would get. With the score 24-15 in favor of Ohio, Miami killed off five consecutive match points before Ohio put down the kill to take a 25-20 win.
