PITTSBURGH--Behind a three-game sweep of Pittsburgh in the final match at the Pittsburgh Invitational, Miami University's volleyball team finished second at its second-consecutive tournament. The RedHawks downed the Panthers (6-4), 30-17, 30-22 and 30-27 to improve to 6-2 on the season, the best start for a Miami team since the 1998 season.

Senior outside hitter Kristen Walters and sophomore middle hitter Carli Reihman were named to the all-tournament team. This marks the second all-tournament team honor for Reihman in as many weeks.

After dominating the first games, Miami had to play catch-up in the third set. Down 12-17, Miami had closed the gap to one, 22-23 when it staged a 6-2 run and never looked back as it collected the 30-27 game three win. Reihman provided three kills during the spurt.

Reihman and sophomore outside hitter Jeanna Staun led all players with 12 kills apiece. Reihman posted a .385 hitting percentage for the `Hawks, while Staun notched a .345 hitting percentage. Senior libero Suzy Wolford notched 18 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Kate Norris added seven blocks (1 solo; 6 assist). As a team, Miami notched 9.5 blocks. Senior setter Megan Clark amassed 43 assists and two service aces in the winning effort.

Miami returns home to host the Miami Best Western/Sycamore Inn Classic Sept. 16-17. On Friday, Sept. 16, the RedHawks face Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. The following day, Miami clashes with Wright State at noon and Northern Colorado at 7 p.m.
