LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Miami University volleyball team finished off a perfect weekend at the UNLV Tournament, winning its fourth consecutive match 3-0 over the host UNLV Rebels. Miami is now 4-2 on the season while the Rebels fall to 2-4.

After the game junior setter Andrea Atteberry was named the tournament's MVP. She helped set her teammates up for kills the whole weekend, recording 134 assists in three matches. The RedHawks pushed to a quick 5-2 lead in set one thanks to kills from Emily Schroeder and Michele Metzler, as well as a block from Maria Leahy. With the score 19-14, Megan Griffin took over, scoring four consecutive points by herself on three kills and a block. After an attack error pulled UNLV to within seven at 23-16, Miami finished off the set with kills from Schroeder and Metzler.

They kept pushing from there, moving it to 8-2 off another Schroeder kill and another combined block. The Rebels went on a 7-4 run to pull within three at 12-9, but a 9-3 run by the RedHawks featuring three more kills by Metzler pushed the lead to nine at 21-12.
