Junior Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) concluded her season at the NCAA Outdoor Championships as she failed to qualify for the finals of the hammer throw late on Thursday evening in Sacramento, Calif.

Collins, who threw the hammer 183-05 feet, finished the hammer event in 22nd out of the top 28 throwers in the nation. Collins' throw ranks third all-time, but she would have needed to equal her personal best, which she achieved at the MAC Championships, in order to qualify for the finals.

Regardless, Collins ended the season with the MAC Championship's Most Valuable Performance after she crushed the school record and meet record in the hammer throw. Collins also broke the Miami record in the shot put this season.

At the NCAA Championships, junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) is one of 14 runners who will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final on Friday at 11:50 p.m. after she qualified earlier this week. On the men's side, sophomore David Mitchell (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) earned the final spot in the 5,000-meter run final, which will take place on Saturday/Sunday at 9 p.m. PT/12 a.m. ET in Sacramento, Calif.

Senior Brian Godsey (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota East) finished his track and field career at the NCAA Championships earlier in the week as he failed to qualify for the finals of the 5,000-meter run. Godsey will conclude his stellar running career at Miami during cross country next fall.
