CLEVELAND--Two Miami University women's track and field student-athletes have been named to the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Women's Track and Field All-Academic Team. Senior high jumper Kristina Bolterstein (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/Midpark) earned her fifth Academic All-MAC honor between the indoor and outdoor seasons, while junior distance runner Rebekah Hollander (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was an Academic All-MAC selection for the first time in her career.
Bolterstein was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District IV First Team earlier this month and is on the ballot for Academic All-America consideration. She owns a 3.64 grade-point average, earning a perfect 4.0 GPA during the spring semester, and is double major in environmental science and zoology.
Bolterstein most recently earned her second-straight invitation to the NCAA Track and Field Championships by finishing fifth at the Mideast Regional Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. She will compete in the NCAA High Jump Championship prelims on Wednesday, June 11 beginning at 4 p.m. The finals take place on Friday, June 13 at 4:45 p.m. on the campus of Drake University.
A 2007 high jump All-American, Bolterstein enters the 2008 NCAA Championships ranked 18th nationally with a season-best jump of 5-10 ¾. She won her first Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championship in May after winning three MAC Indoor Championships earlier in her career. She earned USTFCCCA All-Mideast Region honors and was First-Team All-MAC in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Hollander owns a 3.54 grade-point average and majors in finance and Spanish. She finished second at the MAC Indoor Championships in the 5,000 meters to earn Second-Team All-MAC distinction. She also placed second at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships in the 5,000 meters. During the outdoor season, Hollander placed sixth at the MAC Championships in the 5,000 meters and posted a third-place finish at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships.

To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
