OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University senior high jumper Kristina Bolterstein has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District 4 first team for her athletic and academic accomplishments.

Bolterstein most recently earned her second-straight invitation to the NCAA Track and Field Championships by finishing fifth at the Mideast Regional Championships in Fayetteville, Ark.

A 2007 high jump All-American, Bolterstein enters the 2008 NCAA Championships ranked 18th nationally with a season-best of 5-10 ¾. She won her first Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championship in May after winning three MAC Indoor Championships earlier in her career.

In the classroom, the Middleburg Heights, Ohio native is a double major in environmental science and zoology. She maintains a 3.64 grade points average and earned a perfect 4.0 GPA this past spring semester.

With the first-team nod, Bolterstein is eligible for the CoSIDA Academic All-American team which will be announced on June 25.

Bolterstein will compete in the NCAA High Jump Championship prelims on Wednesday, June 11 beginning at 4 p.m. The finals take place on Friday, June 13 at 4:45 p.m. on the campus of Drake University.
