CLEVELAND, Ohio - Following a third-place finish at the 2008 Mid-American Conference outdoor track and field championships, four Miami RedHawks have earned All-MAC recognition, as announced by the conference office in Cleveland, Ohio.

Kristina Bolterstein, Miami's senior high jumper, earned first-team All-MAC, while junior Katelyn Kelly, and sophomores Amanda Mirochna and Laura Neufarth earned second-team recognition.

Bolterstein, who is heading to the NCAA Mideast Regional competition this weekend, won her first conference outdoor crown in the high jump after winning three indoor titles in previous seasons. The Middleburg, Ohio native's leap of 5-8 ¾ took the conference competition, while she cleared a season-high setting of 5-10 ¾ at the Jesse Owens Track Classic in Columbus. She ended the regular season ranked fourth in the Mideast Region and 18th in the nation heading into the upcoming regional and national competitions.

Kelly, a product of Orchard Park, N.Y., teamed with Bolterstein and sophomore Kristen Mathews to claim 22.5 team points in the high jump. Kelly finished second only to Bolterstein after clearing 5-7 which matched her previous season-high.

Mirochna, from Naperville, Ill., finished second in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:43.00 in the windy finals in Bowling Green. Mirochna was a force all year in both the 1500 and 800, running best times of 4:34.70 and 2:13.75, respectively.

Neufarth capped an exciting first year of competing for the Red and White, the transfer from Ohio State and product of Centerville, Ohio, finished second in the 5,000 meters at the MAC Championships with a time of 17:34.20. She ran a season-best time of 17:02.75 at the Southern Ohio Cup and had a conference-best time in the 3,000 meters of 9:54.10. After winning the individual crown at the 2007 MAC cross country championships, Neufarth is primed for an exciting second year at Miami.
