PERFECT 13: Only one week and the Billy Hayes Invitational stand between the Miami women's track and field team and the Mid-American Conference Championships, which begin on May 15 in Mount Pleasant, Mich. This Sunday, Miami will travel to Bloomington, Ind. for an always-competitive meet hosted by the Big Ten power, Indiana University. The RedHawks still maintain their perfect 13-0 scored meet record and stand 20th in the nation according to the Team Power Rankings.
REDHAWK REGIONAL QUALIFIERS: After earning five NCAA Regional Qualifying marks on April 5 at the Clemson Invitational, eight more marks counted as qualifying standards at the Miami Invitational on April 12 to make 13 in two weeks. At the Southern Ohio Cup and the Penn Relays, there were no new events in which runners earned NCAA Regional Standards, but seven NCAA Regional marks were lowered. - Kremer continued to lower her time as she ran her featured event, the 3000-meter steeplechase, four seconds faster than she had done all season. Kremer's time of 10:25.85 is fastest enough for the 10th lowest in the nation and continued to climb closer to the all-time fastest mark, as she currently stands second.
