After day one at the 18th annual Jesse Owens Classic on the campus of Ohio State University, junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) took first place and joined freshman Joanna Borawski (Bayonee, N.J./Bayonne) in setting NCAA Regional marks in the large open meet on Friday.
Kremer continued to top her incredible mark in the 3000-meter steeplechase time. Kremer's time of 10:20.85 lowered her season best mark and put her amongst the top times in the nation.
Junior Bernitta Johnson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) placed third in the 100-meter dash, senior Sara Edwards (Centerville, Ohio/Kettering Alter) took third in the 400-meter run and Borawski placed third in the javelin and earned an NCAA Regional mark with a throw of 145 feet.
