OXFORD, Ohio - The NCAA announced last week that sophomore Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) is among the 300 student-athletes who will take part in its sixth annual Foundation Leadership Conference, May 26-31, at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex and Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

According to a press release on the Mid-American Conference web site (mac-sports.com), "The mission of the NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference is to develop a diverse group of student-athletes who will actuvely participate in and experience a multitude of chellenging and thought-provoking activities that will enable them to become change agents on their campuses and in their communities."

Collins was chosen from a pool of 1,183 nominations, representing 296 institutions.

The reigning MAC Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week, Collins is the school record holder in the 20-pound weight and hammer throws.
