OXFORD, Ohio - Coming off a second-place finish at the Bowling Green Invitational, the Miami University women's track and field team travels to the Rod McCravy Invitational this weekend. Hosted by the University of Kentucky, the 12-team field includes five Southeastern Conference schools including the host Wildcats, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The women's events get underway Friday with the weight throw at 5 p.m. and resume again on Saturday with the high jump at 10:30 a.m.

The Rod McCravy Invitational should provide a stern test for Miami, as Virgina Tech, Memphis, Louisville, Georgia State, Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee-Chattanooga also are slated to compete in the two-day meet. Fifteen events are scheduled to be contested - five on Friday and 10 on Saturday - as Miami faces a talented field with a total of 16 provisional and automatic NCAA qualifiers.

Hardly lacking for talent, Miami boasts two national-qualifying athletes in juniors Kristina Bolterstein and Sarah Landau. Bolterstein posted an automatic-qualifying clearance of 6-1 1/2 in the high jump at the season-opening Findlay Open, while Landau cleared a provisional-qualifying height of 12-11 1/2 in the pole vault at last weekend's Bowling Green Invitational. Bolterstein and Landau rank first and eighth in the nation in their respective events through Jan. 18.

In addition to Bolterstein and Landau, senior Lashonda Davis has gotten off to a strong start in her final season in the Red and White, winning the long jump and 60 meters at each of the two meets she has competed in. The school record holder in both events, Davis posted a first-place long jump of 19-2 3/4 and a top 60-meter time of 7.53 at last weekend's Bowling Green Invitational. Davis additionally owns the 20 fastest 60-meter times in Miami indoor track history.

Live stats are available for both days on www.ukathletics.com.
