DES MOINES, Iowa - Miami University senior Kristina Bolterstein earned All-American honors by taking eighth place in the NCAA high jump championship finals on Friday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bolterstein finished all alone in eighth place by clearing 5-10 ¾ on her third attempt. The product of Middleburg Heights, Ohio had to battle early on, taking all three attempts to clear the opening bar of 5-8 ½ before doing likewise at the second height of 5-9 ¾.

She earned one team point for Miami with her finish and is one of nine high jumpers to earn United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association All-American honors.

This is the second outdoor All-American nod for Bolterstein as she ends her career as the Miami and Mid-American Conference record-holder with a career-best of 6-1 ½.

She earned All-MAC honors five times in her career, including first-team honors in both indoor and outdoor this year. She is a four-time MAC high jump champion.

Bolterstein improved six places from her 14th place finish at the NCAA Championships as a junior.
