BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Miami University women's track and field team closed out day one of competition at the Mid-American Conference championships on Thursday with several impressive performances.

In the pole vault, Britney Bernardoni and Amanda Rhoades finished seventh and eighth, clearing 11-11 ¾ and 11-5 ¾, respectively.

Erin Frazer took eighth in the javelin with a throw of 123-2.

In the heptathlon, Nicki Mitchell has finished third in the high jump, clearing 5-3 ¼, fourth in the 200-meter dash at 25.90, fourth in the shot put at 34-2 ¾ and 10th in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.20.

Friday's event begin at 9 a.m. at the Whittaker Track in Bowling Green.
