Final Stats

In the final non-team scoring open meet of the season, Miami's women's track and field team had many performers look strong in its final tune-up, the Billy Hayes Invite in Bloomington, Ind. The Mid-American Conference Championships will begin next week in Mount Pleasant, Mich.

Senior Kylee Studer (Edgerton, Ohio/Edgerton) ran below the elusive 11:00 mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to qualify for the NCAA Regional meet, which is held after the MAC Championships. Studer's time of 10:56.08 won the race and gave Miami the 15th event to qualify with the NCAA Regional Standard.

In the 100-meter hurdles, junior Erin Connolly (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) ran a personal best time to also claim an NCAA Regional time. Although Connolly has already qualified, she lowered her mark with a 0:13.96 mark.

Junior Bernitta Johnson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) also earned an NCAA Regional Standard with a 40'08.25" mark in the triple jump. Johnson has also already qualified for the NCAA Regional meet.

Junior Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) also had NCAA Regional marks in the discus throw and the hammer throw. Collins has already qualified in both events and also the shot put.

Miami leaves for Mount Pleasant, Mich. this week and will begin competition on Thursday for the MAC Crown.
