WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker Open was cancelled after Saturday, April 27 because of poor weather conditions. Only the 5,000 and the preliminary round of the javelin were completed before the meet was called off. Sophomores Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) and Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) won events on the first day of competition, Friday, April 26, with Kremer hitting the NCAA Provisional Qualifying Standard in the 3,000 steeplechase with a time of 10:38.22.

Kremer's time is the third-fastest clocking this season in the Mid-American Conference.

Collins bested the field in the shot put with a toss of 46-8 3/4. She also placed fifth in the hammer with a heave of 160-7.

Sophomore Bernitta Johnson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 39-7.

The team returns to the Hoosier State on Saturday, May 4 for the Butler Twilight Open in Indianapolis, Ind.
