Final Stats

The Miami women's track and field team received a good bench mark on Saturday at the prestigious Alabama Relays when they had seven top-ten finishes in Tuscaloosa, Ala against some of the nation's top competition.

Miami's top finish came in the 5000-meter run when junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) finished in first-place. Kremer beat the closest college runner by nearly 30 seconds with a time of 16:49.98.

Senior Erika Harper (Bedford, Ohio/Bedford) looked good in the 400-meter dash when she placed fifth with a time of 0:55.86.

Senior Kylee Studer (Edgerton, Ohio/Edgerton) took sixth in the 1500-meter relay when she crossed the finish line in 4:40.11 for the middle-distance finish.

Junior Jennifer Caldwell (Sabina, Ohio/East Clinton) also had a top-ten finish when she placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.62.

In the field events, sophomore Tabitha Schwartz (Concord, Va./Appomatox) earned the second highest Miami finish when she placed third in the pole vault with an 11'6.25" mark.

Junior Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind/Lawrence Central) had the other two top finishes for Miami when she placed fifth and sixth in the discus throw and shot put, respectively. Collins had marks of 145'7" and 43'05.75" in the two events.

The RedHawks will be traveling to Ball State in Muncie, Ind. on Saturday, March 29, to begin the MAC season.
