In their final tune-up before the Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend, the women's indoor track and field team earned five first-place finishes out of 14 events in Muncie, Ind. in the tri-meet versus Western Michigan and Ball State. Ball State narrowly beat Miami with a score of 104 to Miami's 101. Western Michigan finished with 92.
Junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) earned first in the 3000-meter run by over 30 seconds with a time of 9:48.10 to pace the distance runners. Kremer also placed second in the one-mile run.
Junior Erin Connolly (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) and senior Kate Christoff (Lima, Ohio/Central Catholic) went one-two in the 55-meter hurdles with times of 0.07.99 and 0.08.13, respectively.
Sophomore Tabitha Schwartz (Concord, Va./Appomatox) also earned a first-place finish when she tallied an 11'5.75" mark for the pole vault victory.
Junior Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence Central) showed why she has the MAC's top times in the weighted throw and the shot put by earning the last two RedHawk first-place finishes in the field events.
