Final Stats

Miami's women's indoor track and field team placed second with 131 points at Bowling Green State's Quintangular meet behind Western Michigan who finished with 146 points on Saturday afternoon. Saturday's meet marked the first time Miami has been defeated during the 2002-03 indoor season.

The Red and White were able to easily beat out Bowling Green, Ohio University and the University of Detroit, but unable to muster up enough points to take down the Broncos.

Miami was able to get on the board in the 18th event of the day when junior Andrea Kremer (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) finished the 3000-meter run in 10:00.98 with teammate Kylee Studer (Edgerton, Ohio/Edgerton) behind her in a time of 10:19.53. Both Kremer and Studer were all-MAC cross country performers this fall.

Like Kremer, junior Lauren Collins (Indianapolis, Ind/Lawrence Central) won for the second consecutive weekend by throwing 14"26' in the women's shot put to take Miami's second first-place finish and first in the field events.

The RedHawks won their second field event of the afternoon when sophomore Bernitta Johnson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) jumped 11.72 meters for first place in the women's triple jump.

Miami heads to the Butler/Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianoplis, Ind. next Saturday to continue the indoor season.
