High School: The 2007 Illinois State Individual Champion in cross country, Klaus finished in the Top-15 in each of her four years at Eureka High School, also earning four-straight all-conference nods in both track and cross country... ran a personal best of 17:27 in the three-mile, and has bests of 5:05 in the 1600 meters, 2:16 in the 800 meters and 10:56 in the 3200 meters... won the state meet in the 1600 as a senior She was a part of state champion 4x800-meter relay teams in 2006 and 2008... was a part of three straight sectional track and field championships.

Personal: A member of the National Honor Society... earned the geometry award, pre-calculus award, and recognition on the honor roll... the daughter of Debbie and Patrick Klaus.
