OXFORD, Ohio--First-year head women's tennis coach Howard Joffe had two players sign national letters of intent during the November early signing period. Stephanie Danesis (Akron, Ohio/Revere) and Reikie Honiball (Windhoek, Namibia) are Joffe's first two signings at Miami.

"In Stephanie and Riekie we have secured two excellent students, two awesome athletes, and, above all, two very classy young ladies," said Joffe. "I am thrilled and excited to have them join our steadily improving team, and I am certain that both will immediately be large contributors to the future success of the RedHawk women's tennis program."

Danesis is rated the No. 3 recruit in Ohio and is among the top 10 prospects in the Midwest. Danesis was the Ohio High School Division I runner up in singles in 2007 and the Division II runner up in singles in 2006. In 2005, Danesis captured the Division II state doubles championship. She also qualified in Division I singles in 2004. Additionally, Danesis was the 16s Midwest Closed Doubles Champion in 2006.

Honiball brings a great deal of international tennis experience, playing in numerous ITF junior events and well as several WTA events. Honiball has represented Namibia several times in the Federation Cup. She also has represented Namibia numerous times in the African Junior Championships.
