After a strong season in which it amassed a 7-1 Mid-American Conference record, Miami University women's tennis team (13-6) earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, which will be held April 24-27 in Buffalo, N.Y.

The RedHawks will face the No. 7 seed Ball State University Cardinals in the quarterfinals on Friday, April 25. Match time is set for 2 p.m. and is scheduled to be played at the Ellicott Tennis Center on the University at Buffalo campus. In the event of poor weather conditions, matches will be moved to The Village Glen Tennis Center and the Miller Tennis Center.

The winner of Friday's match will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of the No. 3 seed Toledo vs. No. 6 seed Buffalo winner at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. The championship match is set for noon on Sunday, April 27.

Miami's lone loss of the league season came at the hands of Western Michigan University in a hard-fought 6-1 loss. The RedHawks defeated Ball State 7-0 in the opening match of the league season and topped Buffalo 5-2 and Toledo 6-1. All three matches were road matches for the RedHawks.

The RedHawks, who own 15 Mid-American Conference titles, seek their first MAC Tournament championship since the 1997-98 season.
