Miami University's women's tennis team returns home for the first time since mid-February to host the Bowling Green Falcons and the No. 73 ranked Western Michigan Broncos in two key Mid-American Conference matches. The RedHawks challenge the Falcons at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 11 and the Broncos at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.
This is a key weekend for the RedHawks, facing two of the league's top teams. Bowling Green enters the week with a 14-2 overall record and a 3-2 MAC mark to tie for third in the league standings. Western Michigan enters the weekend having won 32 consecutive regular-season Mid-American Conference matches in the Mid-American Conference. The Broncos are 12-7 on the year and are tied for first in the MAC with a 5-0 conference record.
Last week, the RedHawks defeated Toledo 6-1 and Eastern Michigan5-2 to extend their win streak to five straight, all coming in Mid-American Conference play. The RedHawks (11-5; 5-0 MAC) are off to their best league start since the 1998-99 team went 9-0 in the MAC.
Sophomore Brintney Larson and senior Kelly Douple moved to 5-0 in MAC action, while senior Victoria Pulido improved her league record to 3-0.
