After improving to 3-1 for the season by defeating the University of Cincinnati 7-0 on Feb. 3, Miami's women's tennis team heads to Richmond, Ky., for a pair of matches this weekend. The RedHawks take on East Tennessee at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 before facing host Eastern Kentucky at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9.

East Tennessee State's Lady Buccaneers were swept last weekend by No. 5 Georgia in their first match of the season. The Colonels of Eastern Kentucky enter the weekend with a season record of 3-1 as well, and are coming off of a 6-1 victory over Chattanooga last weekend.

Freshman Anastasia Dracheva controlled the court in her No.1 singles match against Cincinnati's Alizee Paradis, with a final score of 6-1, 6-0, improving her 4-0 at No. 1 singles this season. Dracheva then paired with fellow freshman Megan Martzolf at No.2 doubles, coming out victorious over the Bearcats with a 8-4 win. Martzolf later went on to a close victory at No.3 singles, with a final match score of 6-2, 7-6.

Freshman Cara Wald and sophomore Brintney Larson clinched a win at No. 1 doubles over the Bearcats 8-2. Larson then faced UC's Jennifer Leiner at No. 2 singles, winning 6-2, 6-4, while Wald notched a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.

The RedHawks have won three straight, all 7-0 triumphs, and try to extend their win streak this weekend.

After their road trip to Richmond, Ky., the RedHawks return home to face Xavier at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17.
