ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Anastasia Dracheva, ranked No. 122 in the ITA Preseason Poll, finished fourth Sunday in the Maize Draw at the Wolverine Invitational, hosted by Michigan. The junior had a chance at third place, but fell to an opponent from Purdue, 6-3, 6-2 in her final match.
Stephanie Danesis and Brintney Larson both won consolation matches by identical 6-2, 7-5 scores on Sunday. Danesis topped an opponent from Marquette, while Larson defeated a Mid-American Conference rival from Western Michigan.
All three players also added wins during doubles play. Danesis and Larson combined for an 8-3 victory over Purdue, while Dracheva teamed with Megan Martzolf for an 8-1 win over Marquette.
Miami returns to action Oct. 21-26 at the ITA Midwest Regional. The event, hosted by Cincinnati, features some of the best players in the Midwest.
