ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Three of Miami's four doubles teams picked up wins Friday, highlighting Day One of the Wolverine Invitaitonal, hosted by Michigan.

Two of the doubles wins came against players from the home team as Megan Martzolf and Anastasia Dracheva earned a 9-7 win, while Stephanie Danesis and Brintney Larson posted an 8-6 victory. Jessica Parr and Sydnee Bridger defeated a team from Western Michigan 8-4 for the other triumph.

Three different singles draws were conducted. In the Maize Draw, Dracheva, ranked No. 122 in the country, defeated an opponent from Western Michigan 6-7, 6-0, 1-0 (3) before losing 6-2, 6-0 in the second round. Danesis lost her opening match 6-4, 6-2, but advanced in the consolation draw via walkover.

The Blue Draw saw an opening win, 6-4, 6-2, by Martzolf, but was otherwise unsuccessful. The senior lost her second round match, while Larson dropped both of her contests. In the Wolverine Draw, Honiball was the only one first-round winner. She topped an opponent from Western Michigan 7-5, 7-6 (7-4), but lost in the next round. Parr, Wald and Bridger all rebounded from first-round setbacks, to win their consolation draw openers.
