HAMILTON, Ohio -- Miami Women's Tennis jumped out to early leads across the board Sunday in dominating Detroit Mercy 7-0 at the Riverside Racquet Club. The RedHawks did not drop a set in improving to 5-2 on the campaign.

Miami clinched the doubles point without a hitch as the pairings of Anastasia Dracheva and Brintney Larson and Riekie Honiball Cara Wald each won 8-0. Detroit Mercy looked as if it would salvage one match, opening a 5-0 lead at No. 1, but Stephanie Danesis and Megan Martzolf won eight of the next nine games to earn an 8-6 victory.

Danesis earned a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles to put Miami up 2-0, then Honiball added to the lead with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4. Wald clinched the team's win with a 6-1, 6-0 shellacking at No. 6.

The RedHawks followed with wins by Larson at No. 5 (6-1, 6-2), Dracheva (6-4, 6-1) and Martzolf (6-2, 6-3) to gain their second straight sweep and fourth win in the last five outings.

Miami returns to the court on Wednesday when it travels to Milwaukee to face Marquette in non-conference action.
