HUNTINGTON, W.Va.--Miami University's women's tennis team (6-2) had its six match win streak snapped with a 6-1 loss at No. 55 Marshall (9-2) on Saturday afternoon.

Marshall won at all three doubles flights to capture the doubles point. Miami battled in singles action with three flights going to a third set.

Freshman Megan Martzolf picked up the lone point for the RedHawks with a three-set win against Karolina Soor at No. 2 singles. After falling in the first set 3-6, Martzolf came back to take the next two sets with strong 6-1, 6-3 wins. Marzolf moved to 2-0 at No. 2 singles with the win and is 6-2 on the season.

Senior Kelly Douple and freshman Cara Wald also pushed their matches to three sets at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. Douple lost 2-6 in the first set, but came back with a dominant 6-0 win in the second set before being edged 5-7 in the third set. Wald dropped her first set 0-6 and came back with a 6-4 win in the second set. She was topped in the third set, 1-6.

Miami continues a lengthy road stretch when it travels to VCU for a 2 p.m. game on Feb. 28.
