Final Stats

HAMILTON, Ohio -- Miami dropped just one game during doubles play, setting the tone Saturday for a 7-0 victory over Butler at the Riverside Racquet Club. The RedHawks did not drop a set during the six singles matches.

Stephanie Danesis and Megan Martzolf started things with an 8-0 win at No. 1, while Anastasia Dracheva and Brintney Larson put Miami up 1-0 by taking the No. 2 match by the same score. Riekie Honiball and Cara Wald rounded out the doubles sweep with an 8-1 victory at No. 3.

Wald lifted Miami (4-2) to a 2-0 lead by whitewashing her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6. Danesis (6-0, 6-1) and Dracheva (6-1, 6-0) secured the match by dropping just a single game in two sets.

Honiball posted a 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 4 slot, while Martzolf secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory. Larson completed the sweep by coming from behind early for a 7-5, 6-1 win.

Miami was slated to return to action on Sunday against Dayton, but the match had to be postponed due to a scheduling conflict by the Flyers. The RedHawks return to action next Sunday for an 11 a.m. matchup against Detroit.
