LINCOLN, Neb. -- For the third straight match, Miami took a big-named opponent down to the wire, but wound up falling by a 5-2 score. On Sunday, the RedHawks posted a pair of singles wins against 28th-ranked Nebraska, but could not mount anything more.

Due to Miami's travel plans, the singles matches were played first. The RedHawks (2-7) fell behind 4-0, losing the action at Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 6 before winning the last two flights. Christiana Raymond earned a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 decision at No. 4 before Alix Thurman went to a third-set tiebreaker for a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 6.

The Huskers swept doubles play, winning 8-4, 8-6 and 8-5 over the three flights.

Miami wraps up its month-long road trip with a pair of matches at Penn State next weekend. The RedHawks face Marshall on Saturday and the Nittany Lions on Sunday.
