Final Stats

HUNTINGTON, W. Va. -- Junior Megan Martzolf was No. 71 Miami's lone winner Sunday as the RedHawks fell 6-1 to No. 67 Marshall in women's tennis action.

Martzolf posted a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Dominika Zaprazna at No. 3 singles to earn Miami's point. Stephanie Danesis lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, while Anastasia Dracheva dropped a three-set decision 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 (10-6) at No. 2. Riekie Honiball was defeated 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 Brintney Larson fell 6-1, 6-1. No. 6 Cara Wald was narrowly defeated 6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (13-11).

Marshall jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the match y sweeping the doubles. Danesis and Martzolf fell 8-1 at No. 1, while the teams of Dracheva/Larson and Wald/Honiball both fell 8-6.

Miami returns to action in two weeks when it hosts Butler on Feb. 20 at the Riverside Racquet Club.
