Dave Phillips joins the Miami University women's tennis program as a volunteer assistant. Phillips brings a wealth of experience to the program and currently serves as the Director of Tennis at KTC Quail Tennis Clubs in Dayton, Ohio.

"Aside from being a long time personal friend of mine, Dave Philips' offer to volunteer some of his time adds to our already strong mix," said Miami University head women's tennis coach Howard Joffe.

From 2002-05, Phillips coached at the prestigious Greensboro Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. During his time at Greensboro and at Dayton, Phillips has mentored numerous nationally-ranked players.

"Dave is as intelligent a person as one can meet," added Joffe. "He has played NCAA Division I tennis and has the unique talent to apply his smarts into results by understanding competing and what it takes to be successful and effectively passing it on to students."

Phillips played No. 1 singles at Wright State University from 1994-97, twice being named the team's Most Valuable Player. He earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Wright State.
