ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Miami University senior synchronized skating team launched its 2003-04 season with a first-place finish at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic, winning the title for the third straight year.

"Our team opened up the season with a great weekend," said head coach Vicki Korn. "With so many new faces on the squad this was an opportunity for us to learn. This might not have been our best performance, but we are learning the most technically difficult routine in our division. Regardless, I am very satisfied with how we performed."

The collegiate squad finished second in its division losing out to Western Michigan. The RedHawks next compete on January 17 at the Mid-American Championship on Jan. 17 in Fraser, Mich.
