SENIOR TEAM COMPETES FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND IN SWEDEN: Miami's senior synchronized skating team competes in its biggest meet of the year on Friday and Saturday when it travels to Goteborg, Sweden, for the International Skating Union World Championship. The short program is at 6:30 p.m. local time in Sweden on Friday, or 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Saturday features the free skate at 3 p.m. local time or 9 a.m. Eastern.

THE VENUE: The teams compete in the Scandinavium Arena in Goteborg, which opened in 1971 and seats 12,000 for sporting events.

THE TEAMS: Miami's senior team is one of just two United States teams and one of 20 at the ISU World Championships. Other teams hail from Australia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.

MIAMI AT THE WORLDS: This is Miami's first appearance at the ISU World Championships since 2003, when the RedHawks finished ninth in Ottawa, Canada. It was the fifth time in six years to that point that Miami finished the season ranked among the top 10 teams in the world.

MIAMI'S SENIOR SHORT AND LONG PROGRAMS: The RedHawks designed their short program to a scene from the movie The Italian Job called "The Chopper Chase." It lasts two-and-a-half minutes. The long program was designed by choreographer Sarah Kawahara and is called "A Venetian Fantasy." It lasts four-and-a-half minutes.

ICE SHOW: Miami's collegiate team performs its annual Ice Show April 22 and 23 at the Goggin Ice Arena. Admission is $6, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday the 22nd and 5 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd.
