COLLEGIATE TEAM TAKES THIRD AT USFSA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS: The University of Delaware edged the Miami collegiate skaters by a half a point, 59 to 58 1/2, to move Miami to third place at the U.S. Figure Skating Association Team Championships held at the Goggin Ice Arena on Saturday and Sunday. Miami was tied with the Blue Hens heading into Sunday with the team component left, but the RedHawks tied with San Jose State in the Low Team Maneuver to create the half-point margin. Dartmouth won the meet with 109 points.

SENIOR TEAM PREPS FOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: Miami's senior team earned a berth at the International Skating Union World Championships in Sweden later this month and has organized a "sendoff" performance that is free and open to the public. The show takes place at the Goggin Ice Arena on campus on Thursday, April 14, from 5-6 p.m. It features both the long and short programs the team is prepared to perform in Sweden as well as some instruction from head coach Vicki Korn.

MIAMI'S SENIOR SHORT AND LONG PROGRAMS: The RedHawks designed their short program to a scene from the movie The Italian Job called "The Chopper Chase." It lasts two-and-a-half minutes. The long program was designed by choreographer Sarah Kawahara and is called "A Venetian Fantasy." It lasts four-and-a-half minutes.

ICE SHOW: Miami's collegiate team performs its annual Ice Show April 22 and 23 at the Goggin Ice Arena. Admission is $6, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday the 22nd and 5 p.m. on Saturday the 23rd.

FIFTEEN REDHAWKS HONORED FOR ACADEMICS: At the U.S. National Championships in February, 15 RedHawks received commendations for their academic performance. In all, the U.S. Figure Skating Association honored 236 skaters. The 10 honorees on the senior team include Kristin Abbott, Jennifer Eng, Audrey Holloway, Jenna King, Carrie Lullo, Lisa Marsocci, Meredith Moran, Mikaela Mueller, Becky Search and Ashley Thomas. From Miami's collegiate team, Kristi Anderson, Lisa Headen, Shannie Len, Sheri Prusak and Allison Wolkin were recognized. Skaters needed a cumulative 3.2 grade-point average in order to receive recognition.
