NEUCHATEL, Switzerland - The Miami University senior synchronized skating team has put itself in third place after the short program at this weekend's Neuchatel Trophy competition in Switzerland. The RedHawks skated a very good, clean short program to put themselves behind last year's world champions, Team Surprise from Sweden, and Team Berlin from Germany.

The RedHawks skate their long program tomorrow, Saturday, Feb. 22, last in their group. The Neuchatel Trophy breaks up the top-5 and bottom-5 teams after the short program and has them redraw for the long program. Miami has the ideal slot of fifth among the top-5 teams at the competition, which means it goes last and can leave a lasting impression on the judges.
