MILAN, Italy - The Miami University Senior Synchronized Skating team finds itself in the hunt for a gold medal at the Spring Cup competition at the Palasesto in Milan. The RedHawks are in second place after posting a score of 67.43 - 2.8 points behind Sweden's Team Surprise for first and 4.6 points ahead of third-place Marigold from Finland. Team Surprise, Marigold and Miami all finished in the top four at last year's World Championships in Prague.

"The team skated with great passion and owned the ice today," said head coach Vicki Korn. "We took the ice against two of the top teams in the world and we performed and weren't intimidated."

Miami finishes out tomorrow with its free skate performance. The Senior Team is looking for its first gold medal at the Spring Cup after finishing second four times in six appearances.
